The Ribel House is located in Montebello, a typical residential area, North of Heredia City. The main characteristic of this type of neighborhood is the narrow proportion of each lot, which forces the owners to build from the limit wall; so as a result we have houses standing one to another, wall by wall, without available green areas in between. Instead of looking this situation as a problem, we took advantage of it, by building an introspective home, full of natural light through a translucent polycarbonate ceiling at the center of the house. We also created small green areas that work as private gardens to refresh physically and visually each space, giving the sensation of bigger opening spaces.
